As part of the Silver Sunday celebrations, Humanity First organised a Curry Lunch in Kingston for 35 older people on Sunday 1st October. Then, on October 5th, 52 older people were taken to visit Kew Gardens, which is a botanical garden in southwest London that houses the "largest and most diverse botanical and mycological collections in the world." The day out was a great success with a complimentary tour around the whole park.
Eight participants were taken on a specially designed course which was aimed at combating the early onset of dementia through applying therapeutic and literary techniques in each session. The project reached its climax with a poetry showcase, with each participant reciting their own piece
of poetry on stage.
