Pakistan Water Plants
Water For Life
Following the earthquake that struck Pakistani administered Kashmir in 2005, much of the infrastructure around Bagh and Muzaffarabad was left in ruins. Humanity First established 12 megaflow filtration plants around Muzaffarabad in surrounding towns including Hatian Bala, Chakar, Gojra, Makree and Gari Duppata. The megaflow system can not only handle huge volumes of water (560 gallons per minute) to serve a major town, it also filters out harmful pathogenic bacteria to prevent the spread of diseases such as Cholera, TB and Hepatitis through the use of Ultraviolet technology. Through this programme, a population of around 1.26 million people were able to access a local improved water source whilst the region was gradually rebuilt.
