The Management Team of Humanity First are all volunteers with many years experience of both Disaster Relief and longer term projects in Africa and Asia, and world-class expertise in the medical, engineering and educational domains. A Board of Trustees oversees the Management Team in a non-executive capacity.
In planning operations, the team assesses the need, the scale of the requirement, how to deliver skills transfer and empowerment as part of the project, security of staff, financial control, economic supply of materials and collaboration with other organisations. In all cases, HF ensures that only need, security and our ability to help are considered in the selection of projects, and we do not allow race, religion or politics to be a consideration. Our goal is to serve all of mankind and to restore communities such that they become self-sufficient and have a sustainable future.
As Humanity First grows internationally, a lot of effort is going into refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that work is done in a consistent manner across the globe. We monitor the spend of funds and progress against key milestones and KPIs and this is backed by regular visits of project managers to the project countries. Part of the training is to impart skills to 'local' project managers such that they can gradually take full control themselves whilst maintaining the desired levels of transparency. Each national affiliate also reports to and abides by their local national by-laws for charitable organisations.
